About The Dover Pageant
The Dover Pageant is essentially a renactment of Dovers rich and proud past. Local thatre groups join together to regale spectators with tales from yesteryear. It is an important way for the next generation to learn about the areas roots, and it gives everybody the opportunity to see how Dover became its present self.
The Pageant is truly a colourful event with the various types of sweet shop entertainment. The costumes bring the event alive and provide an insight to the past with the accurate narration. There are many side stalls and attractions including the dramatic Chariot Race Finale!!

The Dover Pageant first took place in 1908 and could even boast the patronage of the Prince of Wales, this event was a great success but unfortunately was not staged again until 1983, it is now a regular event held every three years.
